Virus

Post by f0x »

I drug out my old Tribes laptop, windows XP of course, and it has a virus.

Such a bad virus, it removed my previous restore date.

Id honestly just like to wipe the slate clean and restore it to factory but I do not have a disk.

I tried asking google, and this virus or whatever it is just fills my search results with just more junk, took me an hour just to finally download windows defender and spybot.

Any advice? Remote Connect I can do.

If there is nothing worth saving on the disk, I would recommend upgrading to Windows 10 (especially if you only intend to use it for gaming).

If you intend to use it for business, you might want to try a different operating system.

Once I reboot this old rig, We shall Tribe.

I have a few files I cannot remove off the hard drive. When I use the Command Prompt as administrator in safe mode and off of it, says Access Denied.

FedEx Express Printer
Singlesnet
Avira

Pretty much 2008 style malware porn.

f0x, i think your best bet is on a clean pc, download Hirens Boot CD iso, burn it to a disc, and boot off of it. then you can muck around with the various rescue tools and hopefully fix your poor computer. here's the link http://www.hirensbootcd.org/
